Barefoot
What are the Barefoot shoes?
Barefoot shoes are designed to mimic the feeling of being barefoot as you want to engage feet more naturally.
Design
Wide Toe Box - One defining feature is a spacious toe box that allows your toes to spread out naturally, unlike the tapered design of many traditional shoes.
Barefoot shoes generally feature a "zero drop" design, meaning the heel and forefoot are at the same level. This mimics the natural position of the foot when walking barefoot.
Insoles
Insoles are typically removable but they generally have little to no cushioning, encouraging a more "grounded" feel.
Heels
The heel area, like the rest of the shoe, is generally designed to support the natural contours of your foot. This means there's little to no arch support or rigid structure; instead, it encourages your feet to function on their own.
Soles
Barefoot shoes usually have very thin soles (often around 3–10 mm) to allow more ground feel. The soles are usually flexible and don't have a significant arch.
Socks?
Socks are also recommended to the barefoot shoes just like for the traditional non-barefoot shoes.
